The Choir of Boys and Young Men of the L. Revutsky Chapel
One of the most famous and beloved ensembles in Ukraine, winner of national and international competitions and festivals, which has captivated audiences in the USA and Europe, a regular participant in performances of the National Opera, and sings in the most prestigious concert halls.
In 1988, with the initiative and assistance of Honoured Artist of Ukraine, Professor of the Kyiv Conservatory Eleonora Vinogradova, a choir of boys and young men was established at the Revutsky Chapel.
The choir's founder and chief conductor is Honoured Artist of Ukraine Aida Zaitseva. The purpose of the foundation was to involve children in the revival and development of the rich traditions of choral singing in Ukraine, which have been formed over the centuries, and to open to young artists and their future listeners the pearls of world musical culture, the wonderful world of classical and sacred choral singing, and works by contemporary Ukrainian and foreign authors.
For 30 years, the boys' choir under the direction of Aida Zaitseva has become one of the leading choirs in Ukraine and has received wide recognition abroad.
The Choir of Boys and Young Men has been awarded the title of Laureate of International Arts Festivals in Hungary, Great Britain, the USA, Germany, Spain, Italy, the Republic of Belarus, Poland, Russia, etc.
The repertoire of the boys' choir is diverse and not inferior in complexity to that of professional groups. It includes folk songs, masses, cantatas, choral miniatures, and contemporary works.
The programme includes gems of classical world and national music: J.S. Bach, G.F. Handel, M. Berezovsky, S. Rachmaninoff, I. Stravinsky, M. Leontovych, etc. A special place in the repertoire is occupied by works by contemporary Ukrainian composers: L. Dychko, V. Zubytskyi, M. Skoryk, H. Havrylets, B. Filts, O. Sparinskyi, etc.
Wherever a choir of boys and young men performs - at prestigious concert venues in America, Europe, or their native Ukraine, in churches and churches or in the open air, in village clubs or on opera stages - the heavenly voices of children move the soul and melt even the hearts of stone!
